Annapolis MD, February 25, 2013 – Beneteau America announces the Sense 46 will make her West Coast debut at the Strictly Sail Pacific boat show April 11-14 in Oakland, CA. Passage Yachts, Beneteau’s exclusive dealer in the Bay area, will display the Sense 46 along with five other Beneteau sailing yachts. “The Sense 46 features the core innovations of the original Sense concept,” comments Denise Hanna, sales director for Beneteau America. “Her clever layout makes navigation and life onboard hassle-free while providing unheard-of comfort for a cruising monohull.”
Launched in 2010, the Sense concept has become a new reference in cruising monohulls for emphasizing cockpit space ideal for entertaining topside; a central, one-level floor plan only three steps down from the cockpit and a contemporary design throughout. The recent expansion of the range, now four models from 43 to 55 feet, is an indicator of its success worldwide.
In keeping with her siblings, the Sense 46 is largely inspired by the principles of contemporary interior architecture, skillfully marrying openness and privacy. The new 46-foot yacht is made up of three living areas – a large living space extending from the swim platform to the roomy and uncluttered cockpit; a bright and spacious salon designed for entertaining with an aft-facing nav station, a U-shaped dinette, and fully-equipped inline galley; and finally, two spacious cabins towards the bow, each with a private head. Wide-beamed and close to the water, the Sense 46 retains the innovative feature of a hull designed to offer a low heel angle, therefore guaranteeing outstanding seakeeping while optimizing sailing speed.
